FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE HYPERBARIC CLINICIAN FMHC – For MD, NP, DO, ND, DC, LAC
FMHC represents the standard 40 hour introductory hyperbaric course of instruction in a Functional Medicine/ Regenerative Medicine/ Chiropractic / Naturopathic/ Acupuncture related setting. The Functional Medicine practitioner’s education focuses on use of recompression chambers in a primarily off label hypertaric settings. This course teaches the use of oxygen at a level higher than atmospheric pressures and concentrations as well as focusing on the management and safety concerns in a functional medicine type practice. In order to certify members you must be a DO, DC, MD, NO or FM provider. The equipment required consists ot a pressure chamber which may be of rigid or flexible construction and a means of delivering varying amounts ot oxygen. This is a 40 hour course that focuses on all the salety aspects for hyperbarics. IBUM’s position with respect to this certifcation is that education is paramount for the safety of the industry overall. We remain an industry leader and we are pleased to be the first of all certification agencies to educate Functional Medicine Providers/ Naturopaths and Chiropractors in the safe and effective use of hyperbarics to help individuals heal. This certification is not to interfere with or usurp state or federal laws with regard to hyperbaric treatment or prescribing oxygen. Its purpose is education.
IBUM Chamber Operator and Intermediate Hyperbaric Technician (IHT)
The IBUM – IHT program is design for those seeking to become IBUM AHTs and chamber operations professionals This program gives attendees a start in the hyperbaric career at a basic level. It is ideal for those working in a hyperbaric facility that need to gain work experience prior lo obtaining the IBUM AHT or IBUM CHRN certification exam. These individuals will be working under the direct supervision of a hyperbaric physician registered nurse and/or clinic director.
